MORE THAN A PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR
Most tours take you to a destination and hope the timing works. We start with the photograph.
Our small-group adventures are thoughtfully planned around the best light, remarkable locations and photographic opportunities—from sunrise and golden hour to local culture, wildlife, landscapes and night skies.
We work with knowledgeable local partners to create opportunities that go beyond the typical tourist experience, while handling the transportation, accommodations and logistics. You bring your camera. We work to put you in the right place at the right time.
Why Choose Photo Adventure Trips
Every itinerary is built around photographic opportunities—not checking attractions off a sightseeing list. We seek beautiful light, remarkable scenery and time to create.
With a limited number of photographers, there's room to compose, explore different angles and wait for the moment instead of rushing back to a tour bus.
We seek opportunities to photograph the real character of each destination—from local lifestyles and culture to landscapes, wildlife, architecture and specially arranged model sessions.
Great photography is only part of the experience. Travel with people who share your passion, discover incredible places, enjoy local experiences and have fun along the way.
THE PHOTO ADVENTURE DIFFERENCE
THE PHOTOGRAPHS
Beautiful landscapes. Dramatic light. Local lifestyles. Wildlife. Architecture. Environmental portraits. Specially arranged model sessions. Sunrise, sunset, blue hour and night photography when the destination calls for it.
We choose experiences because of what they offer photographers.
THE EXPERIENCE
We believe photography is more fun when it’s shared with people who love it too. Our small groups give us time to explore, wait for the light, try another angle—and still enjoy the food, culture, laughter and adventure along the way.
Come home with great photographs—and great stories.
Every destination is different. Every adventure is designed to give you a diverse collection of photographs.

Everything you need to know about traveling with Photo Adventure Trips.
Neither. This is a photography adventure. Our itineraries are designed around photographic opportunities rather than trying to check every tourist attraction off a list. We seek beautiful scenery, local lifestyles and culture, wildlife, architecture, environmental portraits and specially arranged model sessions—with time to photograph when the light and conditions are at their best.
Our adventures are designed for photographers who are comfortable using their own camera, from enthusiastic hobbyists to advanced and professional photographers. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should have a basic understanding of your camera before the trip. The emphasis is on giving you extraordinary opportunities and enough time to create photographs you’ll be proud of.
We intentionally keep our groups small. Most Photo Adventure Trips are designed for approximately 10 photographers. Smaller groups allow us to move more easily, access unique locations and give everyone enough time and space to explore different compositions without feeling rushed.
Every destination offers something different. Depending on the adventure, we may photograph breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, local people and lifestyles, markets, villages, architecture, environmental portraits, specially arranged models, sunrise, sunset, blue hour, full moons and night skies. We design each itinerary around what makes that destination extraordinary to photograph.
Each adventure will have its own list of inclusions. Depending on the destination, your trip may include accommodations, private ground transportation, local guides, photography experiences, entrance fees, selected meals and special activities. Every trip page will clearly explain exactly what is and isn’t included before you reserve your spot.
In many cases, yes. A non-photographer companion who enjoys travel and doesn't mind spending time in photography-focused locations may have a wonderful time. However, these aren't traditional sightseeing tours, and our schedule is built around photography. Contact us before booking so we can make sure the particular adventure will be a good fit for both of you.
It varies by destination. Some adventures may involve uneven terrain, stairs, early mornings, walking with camera equipment or moderate hiking. Each individual trip page will include information about the expected activity level so you can decide whether that adventure is right for you.
These are photography adventures rather than classroom-style workshops. You should be comfortable operating your own camera. We will be traveling and photographing alongside one another, sharing ideas and experiences, but the primary purpose is to put you in extraordinary locations with the time and opportunity to create—not to spend your vacation sitting in photography classes.
That's one of the experiences we want to incorporate whenever the destination allows it. We seek authentic opportunities to photograph local lifestyles, artisans, families, fishermen, farmers, markets and communities. We also plan to arrange special model or environmental portrait sessions on many adventures, giving photographers opportunities they might have difficulty arranging when traveling independently.
Once an adventure opens for reservations, the individual trip page will provide the trip dates, itinerary, pricing, what's included and the required deposit. Because our groups are intentionally small, space will be limited. Until reservations officially open, you can join the priority list for the destinations you're interested in and be among the first to receive trip details and booking information.
